Building progress and funding update.
Work on the building is progressing very much to time. The fine weather has been very helpful and the external envelope of the building is all but complete. Except for a small area on the east end, the zinc cladding is finished and the windows have been installed, including the roof lights. The floor screed throughout the building has been laid and this now needs to dry for a number of weeks. The "first fix" electrical installation has been carried out.
When the building work commenced in January, we were £200,000 short of the amount of money needed to complete the project.
Thanks to a concerted effort by our fundraising group, which includes our professional fundraiser, this amount has been halved through a mixture of local and grant funding. Applications are well in hand to raise the remaining £100,000 mainly with grant bodies. We are also planning a number of fundraising events in the early autumn, details of which will be available on this website and also on our Facebook page.
